Max Lutos and Anton Spice will be looking back through a selection of ‘The Vinyl Factory’s favourites, along with picks from their own archives.
Anton Spice is editor-in-chief of The Vinyl Factory. He joined in 2013 to help set up the online magazine, which has since grown to become the biggest vinyl-focused publication on the internet and a touchstone for record culture around the world. As a journalist, he has written extensively about independent media music and interviewed artists from across the world, from Tony Allen to Thundercat. Anton is also one half of London-based dance party Dislocated Disco and hosts regular shows on Balamii and Soho Radio.
Max Lutos leads a life in music curation as creative director for Open Ear Music. He has a passion for Brazilian, soul and jazz and can be found running nights for London Jazz Festival and selecting the soundtrack for many of London’s venues.
The evening’s selection will reflect the breadth of music covered in The Vinyl Factory and explore the stories behind some of the records that have helped shape it.
This event is open to members of the Academicians’ Room, Friends of the Royal Academy and the general public. RSVP required.
